A few people have been asking the Trans-India Challenge team about the unusual colour scheme of the car, and we also thought we’d share the story behind the unique number plate.
The colour scheme was a personal decision for driver Alan Braithwaite, and it’s all down to a comment once made by his Dad. As he explains: “As a boy I remember him saying that if he won the Pools [now the Lottery] he would buy a black Bristol car with yellow wheels. My brother and I never understood where that came from – but it sure looks good!”
The story behind the number plate is equally touching, and Alan is particularly proud of it: “It’s a wonderful number plate for a Morgan three-wheeler. It came from a very dear friend of mine who sadly passed away in May 2018. His name was Maurice Cook. He was a life-long Morgan fan and had an original three-wheeler. I feel it’s a little bit of a tribute to Maurice.”
