They made it! Alan and Pat Braithwaite completed the Trans-India Challenge today, arriving at the Goonj office in Mumbai to be welcomed by the NGO’s founder Anshu Gupta.

In just over a month, Alan and Pat drove their amazing Morgan 3 Wheeler, Queen Bee, from Mumbai to Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi and back to raise awareness and £200,000 for Goonj.

The Challenge took around 34 days and they covered 3,500 miles (5,600km) and was interrupted twice by mechanical problems: first at Gopalpur at the end of leg one when the transmission failed, and second on the way to Agra on leg 3, when a fuel pump stopped working.

With the help and support of Morgan Motor Company and Krazyhorse who supplied the car, repairs were carried out with parts shipped into Kolkata and Delhi, where local help was sourced on both occasions to repair the car.
